Good Friday Shoot
We decided to ditch the Easter eggs and go for some clay pigeons instead. The Sunday 2nd shoot was too soggy, so we moved it to Good Friday when the fields were less like a swamp. We had a blast with a 50-bird sporting layout of five stands. And guess what? Three of the stands were super sporting. That means more clay machines, more targets, and more chances to show off your skills (or lack thereof). Super sporting is not for the faint of heart. It will test your limits, your patience, and your sense of humor. But it’s also a ton of fun.
We were so hungry after shooting all those clays that we drove like mad to Ludgershall and barged into the village hall. There we stuffed our faces with fish and chips from the van, and some wickedly delicious puddings. We also got some easter eggs as prizes, but we ate them too. We owe a big thanks to Brian, Tractor John, Wally and maybe some others for setting up a cracking shoot. And also to Dawn, Shirley and Celia for putting up with us and feeding us the great food.
The scores.
